If you install from an original 2019 disc without patching, you will be playing the "1.0" version. This version lacks many balance changes, additional fatalities, and the Friendship finishing moves added in later updates.
This often happens if the console tries to fetch an update while installing from a disc. Ensure you are completely disconnected from Xbox Live before starting the disc install.
On a PC with the game already installed, go to Steam > Backup and Restore Games . Select MK11 and save it to an external hard drive.
